Hotel 44 North

The hotel staff were extremely nice at check in and out. They also tried to be accommodating when we asked for pen an paper. However the stay was supposed to include pool access, which it did not. As well as continental breakfast, which was simply a jar of cereal, frozen sausage or eggs an a few bagels. There was only bananas for fruit an not many, first come first serve it seemed. They also had a very outdated waffle batter machine that would probably be very health questionable.. Our room was comfy, however the dirty qtip we saw next to the couch as soon as we walked in and the giant cobwebs in the corner were a little off putting.. After being in the area we probably wouldn't be back unless it was the last option..

Don’t stay here. Rooms are unacceptably dank and musty. We stayed in Room 207 and the shower wouldn’t turn off completely, dripping all night. In addition this hotel’s fitness center is on the third floor, directly above our room. We had to listen to people throwing heavy gym around constantly.

Extremely noisy on the highway (backside) of this hotel. This hotel’s rooms on the backside is facing the Maine turnpike Route 295. You will hear the trucks and cars all day and night racing up and down the highway, so do not plan to get a restful night sleep. Management was not very helpful either. We got one room moved, but the other room we could get it be move and the general manage was not very helpful. This hotel knows they have a noise problem and they do not disclose it to their customers before they book which we feel is unfair. Travelers traveling need and want to get a good nights sleep and are paying a lot of money to stay in the hotel’s room and should expect a quiet room. The General manager had an attitude that it’s our problem. Also, the pool in this hotel has some serious problems, the handle safety bar going into the pool was loose and very unsafe.. the steps going in was slimy too, telling us the pool needed to be cleaned. We found the two hotel rooms we had to have poor lighting also, compared to most hotels that we stay in. We will not stay at this hotel ever again and would strongly suggest anyone considering staying here to consider looking at the several other hotels in the area before staying at this hotel.
